What do you guys think?

I'm thinking that our group should choose a charity project to do this year. I know we all have a lot going on right now with Olympic knitting and school but perhaps we could join up with the other two knitting groups and set a date out in the future to do something? Let's get some ideas together and I'll go over to the other two group Abq. leaders and see what they think.

  • I am so in on this and would love to help with any project we decide on. I think Afghans for Afghans, Mother Bear, or even something more local (like Good Fibrations does for domestic violence survivors) would all be great. Let's get some ideas and do it!

  • There is a neat blog... Here is the addy: http://www.sheeptoshawl.com/charity/archives/cat_1575019681.html. They list some interesting charity projects out there that are not your ordinary charity projects. Or, go to my blog links on the side bar and click on Knitting For Change then on their blog, click on Ideas for Charity Kniting...

  • Great idea. I think it would be good to do in warmer weather, when people tend to slow down on their knitting.

  • How about The Dulaan Project
or do we want to keep it local?

  • Great idea. I like the thought of keeping things local, but I'll knit for any charity. I bought the Mother Bear pattern last fall (I think Amy has the extra one...can't find mine!), and that seems like a good cause, too. And some whimsical knitting.
